Transportation Service for People with Disabilities Mobility is an undervalued asset. Due to their disability, people with reduced mobility find it impossible to participate in social life. We organize daily trips for all people with disabilities for whom public transportation is inaccessible. This primarily involves transporting people to spa treatments, vacations, and more generally, leisure pursuits. We also provide daily school transportation for children and commutes for people with disabilities. In addition to our daily activities, we regularly organize half-day and full-day excursions. All trips and excursions, as well as participation in our three volunteer projects, are free for association members. We are looking for drivers for these public service trips. Help us help others! Volunteer Time: You decide how much time you would like to devote to the association. You can indicate which days and how many days you would like to be on duty, whether regularly or occasionally. A shift always lasts the entire day. It is not possible to commit to just a few hours. This would require too much organizational work. Location: The association's premises are located at Mühlezelgstrasse 15, 8047 Zurich. Normally, trips are made from the Zurich metropolitan area to destinations throughout Switzerland. Procedure: Interview to get to know the manager and team members. Introduction day with no obligation, which allows you to get a real-life experience of what awaits you. If, after this day, you would like to become a driver, you must register for the dates of your choice. You will then receive your schedule for the day by email. Like any other transport service, the association's activities are governed by the Ordinance on Drivers' Rest Periods. Sufficiently long breaks are therefore planned between each trip. The fleet of ultra-modern vehicles is equipped with an automatic transmission, GPS, a mobile phone holder, air conditioning, and a reversing radar. They are generally parked in the association's underground parking lot in Zurich. In principle, the association drives each passenger to the destination of their choice. This includes trips outside the region, for example, hospital transfers between a Zurich hospital and a rehabilitation center elsewhere in Switzerland. These can also include short trips within the city. Overview of activities: All the necessary information is provided to you during detailed training. You will be shown what you need to do and how to do it individually. You will also be given a copy of the association's internal regulations. Supervision: If you have any questions, please contact the association's office. The supervision team is available to drivers. Continuing education courses are offered. Meetings are regularly organized to allow volunteers to exchange ideas in a friendly atmosphere. Missions: Upon departure or arrival, passengers are brought to the vehicle or assisted by caregivers (e.g., caregivers, therapists, parents). Ensure the safety of passengers in the vehicle (including seatbelt use). Drive carefully. Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of German is required to communicate at least rudimentarily with the association and beneficiaries. Conditions You hold a valid category B driving license.
