Matt Daig is Vice President and Senior Counsel, U.S. Regulatory Affairs, at the Managed Funds Association, where he represents private fund managers on policy and regulatory matters. Prior to joining the MFA, Mr. Daig was Vice President and Senior Counsel in the American Bankers Association's (ABA) Office of Innovation Policy and Regulation, where he collaborated with banks and policymakers to ensure the legal and regulatory framework fosters financial innovation. Prior to joining the ABA, Mr. Daigler served as Senior Counsel in the Office of the Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), where he advised the Chairman on domestic and international policy and legal matters relating to cryptocurrencies and the derivatives and futures markets. Prior to joining the CFTC, Mr. Daigler was a senior partner at Allen & Overy LLP in Washington, DC, where he advised financial institutions on a wide range of regulatory matters. He also worked at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for nearly a decade, most recently serving as a senior special counsel in the Office of Derivatives Policy, where he worked on the implementation of Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act and, more generally, derivatives regulation. Mr. Daigler holds degrees from the University of Chicago (J.D.), Boston College (Ph.D.), and the University of Toronto (B.A.).
