Johny Wood

Johny Wood is a Partner at True Search, the sixth-largest executive search firm in North America, with over 18 offices worldwide. He joins the Financial Services practice, co-leads True's hedge fund practice, and is also a Partner in the Human Resources, Talent, and Legal practice. John has over 20 years of recruiting and business management experience. He assists asset managers, publicly traded companies (Series A), and venture capital and growth equity funds with their talent needs across a variety of roles (executive, investor, and operational leaders), both as an advisor and a recruiting professional.

Prior to joining True, John was Vice President of Talent and Culture at Boom Supersonic, a Series C unicorn, and responsible for all aspects of human resources and recruiting. Previously, John spent over a decade at Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund. At Bridgewater, John held several positions, including Chief of Staff to Founder and CEO Ray Dalio for several years, and was responsible for recruiting for the company for over a decade during its rapid growth and expansion. John began his career in the nonprofit sector.

John currently lives in Greenwich, Connecticut. He enjoys spending time with his wife and son, playing tennis and pickleball, and is a member of Rotary. John holds a BA from Harvard College, where he majored in African American Studies.
